About Us: Our History and our Management Team
Black Hawk Senior Residence is Fort Atkinson's longest running, privately owned assisted living residence. We have been serving Jefferson County seniors since 1991.
The Black Hawk has been voted the Area's Best Assisted Living Facility every year since readers of the Jefferson County Daily Union added the category to their poll in 2007. It's a designation in which we take great pride, and strive to earn every year going forward.
Our management team consist of:
The Logan Family
Founders Sharon and Jackson Logan converted the "Old Hotel" into a CBRF (community-based residential facility) in 1990 ran it until their retirement. In 1995 they expanded the facility to it's current 36 units including 2 two-bedroom apartments.
Andrew Logan: Owner/Administrator
Andrew Logan assisted in the start-up of the Black Hawk and served as the first administrator from 1991-1992 when he returned to gratudate school for a Masters in Business Administration. Andrew remained involved peripherially with the family business until he and his brother Timothy purchased the company upon Jack and Sharon's retirement in July of 2012. Timothy is a silent partner and NCO with the US Army, and is currently on active duty.
Makinzie Luedke: Manager
Makinzie came to the Black Hawk with 16 years business experience, having helped run a family business since she was a teenager. She handles all aspects of the staffing, resident admissions and HR.
Patty Reyes: Care Coordinator
Patty has been with the Black Hawk since 2007 and was promoted to Care Coordinator in 2013, She supervises the carestaff and is responsible for day-to-day resident care and medical supervision, working closely with the consulting RN.
Dot Guensch: Dietary Manager
Dot assures that the meals that go out of our kitchen are always hot, delicious and nutritious. She prides herself on carrying out our motto, "We serve every meal like you would serve a guest in your home." Dot supervises a team of three cooks, meal servers and dish washers, and runs the kitchen as if she owns it.
Trina Potter: Memory Cafe Manager
Trina was promoted from within the organziation to manage the day-to-day activites and staff of the Black Hawk's newest outreach service, our theraputic adult day program. Trina is responsible for all Memory Cafe programming both for participants and for the community at large.
